< >Finance
State monies are held in 1st Citizens Bank. We have no mutual funds.
Our bank accounts are flat at this time.
< >Note: The State Treasurer is responsible for the finances of the State. The financial year of the chapter will end on December 31 of each calendar year. An audited per the State By-Laws. Reported per the State By-Laws
I attended and represented the State as newly Installed State President at the 2019 Mid-Year National Meet in Washington DC 10 April 2019.
We hosted the 84th Annual National Congress in October 2019 and was installed as the 2nd VP General. I serve as National Membership Chair, National Insignia Chair, and on the website committee.
We had two special session Florida State Board Meetings
-
22 April 2019 – the meeting was called to discuss the handling of business related to the passing of David Bahn as State Treasurer
-
12 July 2019 – the meeting to elect J. Courtney Reilly as State Treasurer
I represented the State as 2nd VP General and Florida State President on two National virtual General Board Meetings 15 May 2020 and 4 June 2020.
I was able to physically attend one Jean Calvin Meeting, one Louis DuBois Meeting and the final Fleur de Lis Chapter Meeting.
< >Note: No less than 21 days’ notice is to be given to all members for travel meetings. COVID 19 has made it challenging to find our new normal. A quorum is required per the State By-Laws. General thoughts good, bad, indifferent on the State:
-
I would like ideas on how we engage the membership.
-
What can I do as a leader to make you better leaders? What tools do you need?
-
Training or help for me on how to create a member’s only tab on WIX it website.
-
In general, I feel that the State is going in a good direction. Slowly. Slowly is not negative.
< >Topics or goals needing support from the State:
-
We need to start to lay mid-term plans. Who can we start to groom/grow in our Chapters? Let’s put together 1, 3, and 5 - year plans.
-
Who can we groom/grow for State positions?
-
When do the other Florida state heritage societies meet? Can I get to them as a speaker at their state meeting? How? We need visibility.
< >Resources or help needed from the State:
-
Ideas from you.
